San Francisco Giants’ SP Matt Cain has been battling an elbow injury that apparently has been causing him to struggle this season. Cain calls it “crankiness” but this crankiness has caused Cain to struggle severely posting an ERA above 4 and having the lowest strikeout ratio in his career. Cain actually admitted about the pain bothering him since spring training.
Here is Cain’s quote with CSNBayArea.com
The elbow has been cranky at times going back to the spring. It gets that way occasionally and he’s always pitched through it.
