Sabres And Lighting Tied At 1-1 at 2nd Intermission

The Lightning were unable to take advantage of numerous power play opportunities but the lone goal of the quarter was scored by the Sabres at the 12:58 mark by Brian Flynn (assis to Cody McCormick and Ville Leino).

The Lighting opened the second period with back to back power plays opportunities. At the 0:47 mark Steve Odd was called for interference on Radko Guda and with 6 seconds to go on that penalty Cody McCormick was called for cross checking Richard Panik.

The Sabres were able to successfully kill both of these penalties but the Lightning would have another opportunity with the man adavantage as Tyler Ennis was called for hooking Matt Carle at the 8:03 mark.

The Lightning would not score nor make full use of the 2-minutes as Ryan Malone was called for roughing Christian Erhoff at the 9:32 mark. After the two teams skated four on four the Sabres went on the power play which the Lightning successfully killed.

The Lightning power play was put to the test at the 4:00 mark when Nate Thompson was called for boarding Mark Pysyk. The Lighting seemed to be the aggressor while playing a man down and had tow opportunities to score.

The Lighting closed the second period on the power play and will open the 3rd period up a man as Henrick Tallinder was called for tripping at 19:oo minutes.
