Jon Heyman of CBS Sports writes that if Rays ace David Price was to get traded, he’d like to stay close to Tennessee (where he went to school) and play for the Atlanta Braves. The Braves are the closest MLB team to Tennessee.
Price joked about being traded to the Nashville Sounds, saying “My favorite would be the Nahshville Sounds,” but in all seriousness, he does prefer teams close to home, rather than far away.
His agent said he wouldn’t even consider a long-term extension with the Seattle Mariners, even if they made an offer after acquiring him. The Mariners were rumored to be in trade talks with the Rays.
Price is staying positive, no matter where he should end up. If (again, he’s still in rumors) he does get traded.
“Whether the Rays trade me or not, the mound is still sixty feet, six inches,” Price said. “My job does not change. You’ve got to stay the same person.”
