Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report writes that the Detroit Lions are covering their behinds by inquiring to other teams around the league what they’d be willing to offer for defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, and that the conversations are just that. Just inquiries. Nothing serious.
Per Freeman, several team officials believe that, for now, the Lions are just exploring what they could get for Suh in case their contract talks with Suh completely disintegrate.
According to a team executive, the Lions are doing their due diligence by shopping around and not pulling the trigger, just preparing for the worst. Worst being they can’t sign him.
Update 11:57am ET: Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Lions are trying to re-sign him. Not trade him.
