Rays Vs Royals – Lineups

Matt Moore Takes The Ball For The Rays First Road Game

The Tampa Bay Rays will play their first road game of the season against the Kansas City Royals – a team which beat them six out of seven meetings last season.

It is the first of a nine game road trip for the Rays but the 3-city 10-game road trip is something that many players look forward to. “Some players don’t feel like the season has started until we go on a road trip,” said Rays pitcher Alex Cobb after yesterday’s game.

Tonight Matt Moore (0-1, 3.18 ERA) will be opposed by fellow lefty Jason Vargas (0-0, 1.29 ERA).

The Rays will once again go with a predominately right handed hitting lineup. The lineup will feature eight right handed bats with James Loney being the only lefty.

Rays Lineup:

Desmond Jennings (CF), Wil Myers (RF), Ben Zobrist (2b), Evan Longoria (3b), Logan Forsythe (DH), James Loney (1b), Sean Rodriguez (LF), Ryan Hanigan (C), and Yunel Escobar (SS)

Royals Lineup:

Norichika Aoki (RF) Omar Infante (2B) Eric Hosmer (1B) Billy Butler (DH) Alex Gordon (LF) Salvador Perez (C) Mike Moustakas (3B) Lorenzo Cain (CF) Alcides Escobar (SS)

I am a fan of all sports but am most passionate about baseball. From the fanatical to analytical, nothing about the game escapes me. Being born and raised in Northeast Ohio I'm very familiar with the heartache and pain that sports can bring and hope that I bring some understanding of the other side to my coverage. I will focus mostly on baseball but also cover the Tampa Bay Lightning, one of the most electric franchises in all of sports. Always willing to converse about any sport and have only one rule and that is be respectful at all times.
