Rays Call Up Josh Lueke

Rays Call Up Josh Lueke

If your not following Adam Sobesy @Sobsey or following his blog over at Bull City Summer you are missing out.

Last night he sent the following tweet out:

The corresponding roster move has not been revealed but it could mean one of a few things.

Chris Archer may be heading to the disabled list. He is scheduled to throw for the Rays this afternoon and at that time more will be known as to whether he can make his next start or not. If he is unable to make his start Lueke would provide the Rays with an extra bullpen arm until Tuesday when Jake Odorizzi would most likely get the call to make spot start.

Josh Lueke’s recall could mark the end of Kyle Farnsworth’s time with the Rays. Farnsworth has been unable to develop any rhythm this season and has blamed a lack of work for his ineffectiveness. With Brandon Gomes near ready and Josh Lueke available as well the Rays may be ready to move on.

The roster move should be known at some point this afternoon.

I am a fan of all sports but am most passionate about baseball. From the fanatical to analytical, nothing about the game escapes me. Being born and raised in Northeast Ohio I'm very familiar with the heartache and pain that sports can bring and hope that I bring some understanding of the other side to my coverage. I will focus mostly on baseball but also cover the Tampa Bay Lightning, one of the most electric franchises in all of sports. Always willing to converse about any sport and have only one rule and that is be respectful at all times.
