Rays Alex Cobb Hit In Head With Line Drive

In the bottom of the 4th inning Alex Cobb was struck by a line drive off the bat of Eric Hosmer. The ball ricocheted over to Jose Lobaton who threw to James Loney for the out. CObb immediately fell to the ground face first and kicked his legs back and forth as the Rays medical staff rushed to the mound.

After several minutes Cobb was loaded on to a stretcher and taken to the hospital for x-rays.

Updates #1: Word is Cobb was  hit in the ear and split it open. Rays are cautiously optimistic that he will be o.k.
