We’re now just 90 days away from kicking off the 2013 college football season, and analysts are beginning to release their preseason all-conference teams.
Phil Steele’s College Football Preview released the preseason All-American Athletic Conference teams earlier this week with 13 Knights being recognized, including four selections to the second-team.
Quarterback Blake Bortles, offensive tackle Torrian Williams and punt returner J.J. Worton were selected to the Phil Steele second-team all-conference. All three selected to 2012 second-team all-conference honors as recognized by Conference-USA.
Running back Storm Johnson was also a preseason second-team selectee this year.
In addition to the second-team as a punt return, Worton also selected as a third-team wide receiver along with four other teammates.
The 13 selections for UCF was tied for third with Rutgers University, behind only Louisville (18) and Cincinnati (14).
You can find a complete list of Phil Steele’s 2013 preseason All-AAC team online, or on the newsstands mid-June.
The Knights will begin the AAC era with a non-conference game at BrightHouse Networks Stadium against the University of Akron. The newly-created AAC unveiled its new logo last week.
