PGA Championships: Big weekend for TNT and CBS


Tiger Woods heads in the final major of the year red hot.

This week it will be CBS and Turner Sports with the  comprehensive multimedia coverage of the 95th PGA Championship from Oak Hill Country Club’s East Course in Rochester, N.Y., TNT will televise 18 hours of exclusive live action including six hours each day on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 8-9, from 1-7 p.m. ET, along with live coverage of the third and fourth rounds on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 10-11, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

CBS Sports will cover the action at all 18 holes of Oak Hill Country Club (East Course) with live coverage of the third and final rounds on Saturday, Aug. 10 and Sunday, Aug. 11 (2:00-7:00 PM, ET; both days). In addition, CBS Sports will broadcast highlights of early-round action immediately following the LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN on Thursday, Aug. 8 and Friday, Aug. 9 (12:35-1:05 AM, ET/PT; both nights). 

CBS Sports Network will be a big part of the networks coverage plan again this year.  PGA CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE RANGE returns for the second year live from the Tournament Practice Range of Oak Hill on Thursday, Aug. 8 and Friday, Aug. 9 (8:30-10:30 AM, ET) featuring player interviews, analysis and a preview of the day’s action.  Grant Boone, Brian Crowell and Bobby Clampett host the show each day.

The broadcast crews: for  TNT commentators will include host Ernie Johnson, analysts Ian Baker-Finch and Billy Kratzert and reporter Vince Cellini.

The CBS team is led by host Jim Nantz, with  Sir Nick Faldo,  serving as lead analyst.  Ian Baker-Finch will call the action at the 17th hole, Gary McCord at the 16thhole, Peter Oosterhuis at the 15th hole, Verne Lundquist at the 14th hole and Bill Macatee at the 13th hole.  David Feherty, Peter Kostis and Billy Kratzert will serve as on-course reporters.
