Pau Gasol is Headed to the Bulls

NBA News: Gasol Picks Chicago

The Chicago Bulls have landed one of the top prizes in free agency in 7-foot center, Pau Gasol. The 4-time NBA All-Star has career averages of 18.3 points, to go along with 9.2 rebounds a game. At 34, Gasol proved he still has it, by averaging 17.4 points and 9.7 boards with the Lakers last season.

With Gasol in the mix, the Bulls will have another proven post scorer, who is one heck of a passer. Gasol will also be able to tutor another young Spanish player in Nikola Mirotic, whom the Bulls are expected to bring over from Europe this off-season.

Before Gasol signs a contract, the Bulls will likely amnesty Carolos Boozer, and his $16.8 million dollar salary. The Bulls had been hoping to pull off a sign-and-trade with the Lakers, but talks recently broke down between the two teams.
