The Mets will have to be without their ace for a little bit longer.
According to Greg Logan of Newsday, Dillon Gee had to cancel a bullpen session because of discomfort. He’s been on the DL since May 11 with a right lat muscle injury.
Mets general manager Sandy Alderson acknowledged that his tentative June 5 return date from the disabled list is “not realistic.” Alderson said Gee did not feel comfortable enough to attempt the bullpen session.
Gee made ten starts before landing on the disabled list. During that time, he has been lowering his ERA to 2.73 while compiling a 3-1 record over 52.2 innings.
