NFL NEWS: Maurkice Pouncey

Maurkice Pouncey

Pittsburgh Steelers cener Maurkice Pouncey has signed a five-year, $44 million contract extension, a deal that makes him the NFL’s highest-paid center, according to Pro Football Talk. This is coupled with the remaining year of his rookie contract, Maurkice has a six-year, $48 million contract, PFT says. ESPN Insider Adam Schefter confirmed the report.

Pouncey is the team’s first-round pick in 2010, out of Florida. He saw action in only one game last season after going down with a torn ACL and MCL in Week One. But he is the only center in NFL history to make the Pro Bowl each of his first three seasons.

His brother Mike plays for the Miami Dolphins.
