Marlins Clinch Last Place With Loss

Phillies_Chase_Utley_2013The Miami Marlins are turning last place into their permanent residence.

By losing Tuesday to the Philadelphia Phillies, the Marlins locked up the cellar in the National League East for the third consecutive year and the seventh time in team history.

They have never won their division.

The next milestone on their dreadful season: 100 losses.

The Marlins (55-96) moved one step closer to that bad benchmark with a 6-4 loss Tuesday night to the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.
