Hour One on The Jay Mariotti Show: August 12, 2013: Jay introduces the mariottishow.com multimedia format, talks about his last three years, discusses how the sports media landscape has changed and how he plans to combine radio and video with his written commentary in a 24/7 production that will become the digital prototype for sportswriters and sportscasters.
Hour Two on The Jay Mariotti Show: August 12, 2013:
Jay declares Tiger Woods will not win another major and is destined to leave a bittersweet imprint on the world. He wonders why fans yell “mashed potatoes” at major golf tournaments and sees a culture clash looming in a traditional country-club sport. Jay asks why Alex Rodriguez is still playing after a 211-game suspension — where’s the arbitrator? — and bemoans how he could alter pennant races.
Hour Three on The Jay Mariotti Show: August 12, 2013:
Jay reintroduces the mariottishow.com format. He launches a discussion about Johnny Manziel and calls him the most significant college football player ever, if also a ticking bomb who could self-destruct. He says Alabama-Texas A&M will be bigger than any NFL game on the immediate horizon. He thanks his callers and listeners and says he’s happy to be back.
