A jury found Eric Rivera Jr. guilty of second-degree murder in the shooting death of NFL star Sean Taylor in his Palmetto Bay home in 2007.
Monday’s verdict came on the fourth day of deliberations in the trial.
Jurors asked to re-examine a large amount of evidence as their deliberations extended into the afternoon.
Some jurors told Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Dennis Murphy on Friday that they were having difficulty deciding the fate of Rivera, 23. Rivera, who is charged with first-degree murder and burglary, faces life in prison if convicted of killing Taylor as a result of the November 2007 incident.
