Johnny Manziel has officially announced that he will enter the 2014 draft and skip his final two seasons of eligibility at Texas A&M.
The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner completed the necessary paperwork to declare his draft eligibility Wednesday. His decision was reported earlier today on NFL.com.
Manziel is projected as a first-round selection as he comes off of a decent Aggies’ season. He threw for almost 8,000 yards and 63 touchdowns as the Aggies quarterback.
Johnny Football also became the first freshman in college history to win the Heisman Trophy in 2012 and he also set the SEC single-season total offense record with over 5,000 yards.
He has reportedly chosen Select Sports Group out of Houston to be his contract agency and the firm run by LeBron James’ business partner Maverick Carter, LRMR, which he has chosen to do his marketing.
No reports have detailed whether or not he has actually signed a contract with either firm. Once he signs, his NCAA eligibility will be officially over.
