Jets Waive Mike Goodson

NFL NEWS: Mike Goodson

After one unproductive and controversial season, the New York Jets on Wednesday finally decided to release troubled running back Mike Goodson, whose NFL future is clouded by a gun-possession charge in New Jersey.

The Jets waived Goodson with the left-squad designation, according to general manager John Idzik.

Goodson, rehabbing a surgically repaired knee, failed to show up for this week’s mandatory minicamp and the voluntary portion of the offseason. Coach Rex Ryan on Tuesday didn’t give a reason for the minicamp absence, saying he hadn’t spoken to Goodson.
