Rays pitcher Jeremy Hellickson has been activated off the disabled list and is scheduled to start Tuesday. He will replace Erik Bedard in the rotation, reports Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

Hellickson’s 30-day rehab assignment ended Sunday. He made six rehab starts in effort to come back from a January elow surgery. If they so deemed, the Rays could have sent him to Triple-A but Joe Maddon said he is “ready to go.”

Bedard was scheduled to start Tuesday. He only lasted two innings his last start and will head to the bullpen because the team will have an extra pitcher.
