The Toronto Blue Jays are the hottest team in baseball. The Jays beat Baltimore yesterday 13-5 to win their 11th straight. After a horrible start to the season the Jays are now just five games back of the Red Sox in the American League East.
The Jays find themselves within five games of first place in the American League East after tying a franchise record for consecutive victories.
Edwin Encarnacion homered and had four RBIs as the Jays won their 11th in a row, 13-5 over the Orioles. Colby Rasmus also went deep for the Blue Jays, who won 11 straight in 1987 and again in 1998.
The offensive outburst allowed a shaky Josh Johnson to pick up his first win as a Blue Jay. Johnson was reached for four runs and seven hits in six-plus innings.
Ryan Flaherty homered twice for the Orioles, who allowed a season high for runs but remain two games behind East-leading Boston.
