Jake Peavy Would Start Potential Game 7 For Red Sox

Red_Sox_Jake_Peavy_2013Red Sox manager John Farrell said right-hander Jake Peavy is, “as of now,” the scheduled starter for a possible Game 7 of the World Series.

Farrell left the door open for changes depending on how Game 6 progresses Wednesday night at Fenway Park with the Red Sox ahead in the series 3-2. Peavy has struggled in his past two postseason outings, and the Red Sox figure to have all hands on deck if the teams meet in a winner-take-all scenario Thursday.

The wild card is lefty Felix Doubront, who has looked solid in 4 2/3 innings of relief this series. Farrell said Doubront is available for multiple innings in Game 6, but if the Cardinals force another game and Doubront is not utilized in a Game 6 loss, there is the possibility for changes.
