In the push and pull of NFL contract negotiations, it appears that Jackson’s camp may be leaking information aimed at forcing the Redskins to yield on key terms. It also appears that the Redskins are leaking information aimed at keeping the presumption from becoming that Jackson will inevitably be conducting a press conference at team headquarters, holding up a youth medium jersey bearing a number other than Robert Griffin III’s 10.
On Monday, it looked/felt/smelled/tasted like the Jackson camp was pushing the idea of two “mystery teams” in “deep negotiations” with the player. And it looked/felt/smelled/tasted like the team was putting out the idea that they won’t overpay — and that Jackson wants $9 million or $10 million per year.
