Insider: UCF men’s basketball tops Savannah State

The UCF Knights (3-0) picked up their third ‘W’ of the season against Savannah State (3-2) this past Sunday at the UCF Arena. The Knights played with ease in the first half but had to battle in the second half for the win.

During the first half, the Knights were dominating and lead 31-18. But during the second half, the Knights lost the lead and trailed a few times. Free throw points by Kasey Williams and Tristan Spurlock gave the Knights the 53-50 edge with seconds left in the game.

Up next, UCF will host Middle Tennessee State Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Games Notes:

The last time UCF  played on a Sunday was back in 2009.

The Knights have won 22 consecutive non-league home games under Donnie Jones.

Tristan Spurlock had 13 points and six rebounds during Sunday’s game.

Keith Clanton had his third-straight double-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds.

Isaiah Skyes had 14 points and five rebounds against Savannah State.
