The Orlando Magic dedicated their last home game of the season as Fan Appreciation Night.
Head coach Jacque Vaughn and the Magic players applauded the 17,297 fans on the court after their 102-84 defeat to the Chicago Bulls.
“It’s been that way more than few times, multiple times throughout the course of the year, fans staying until the end of the games and offering unbelievable support. It was just our small gesture of saying ‘Thank you’ for being there for us the entire year,” Vaughn said after the game.
The Magic organization had numerous rewards lined up for Magic fans before and during the game.
Before tipoff, 14 season-ticket holders along with representatives from 14 community partners received an autographed Magic jersey from a Magic player. Fans in attendance received the 40 percent employee discount to retail merchandise at the Amway Center.
During a timeout in the first half, the Magic’s military family of the game received a mortgage free home as part of Operation Homefront and Chase Bank’s partnership to place military families in homes.
Throughout the game, Magic players appeared on the big screens thanking Magic fans for all the support in the 2012-13 season.
Prior to the game Jameer Nelson addressed the fans and said he hopes they stick around for the Magic’c 25th season later this year.
