On the opening day of free agency and training camp, the Orlando Magic have been busy.
Earlier this afternoon, the Magic reached an agreement to send Brandon Bass to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Glen “Big Baby” Davis.
According to Bass’ agent, Tony Dutt, the deal is done.
Per Marc Stein of Yahoo, Davis will make $6.5 million annually.
Davis, who averaged a career-high 11.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game last year, is a player Dwight Howard has been rumored to want to play with.
Speaking of Howard, Chris Broussard of ESPN reported Howard had a secret meeting with New Jersey Nets brass and will ask the Magic for a trade to New Jersey. This could lead the Magic to file tampering charges.
In other Magic news, the team announced through their official website they have waived Gilbert Arenas with the amnesty provision.
