College Student Arrested For Giving Opinion On Redskins Name

A college student was arrested after sharing his opinion on the Washington Redskins name. But wait, he was not arrested specifically for that.

Cops read the Bloomsburg Press-Enterprise and later arrested Jake Close for what he said in the section titled “Your Opinion.”

His opinion is somewhat racist in itself, but again, that’s not the reason he was arrested.

“I think they should keep the same name, but change the mascot to a potato,” Close said. Old joke, bro.

He was originally arrested for driving drunk and campus police were looking for Close after getting a tip from Ithaca City police, where he was originally arrested, and found him on campus after spotting him in the paper.

He is now in Colombia County Prison on $25,000 bail awaiting extradition to New York.
