FAU Coach Carl Pelini Resigns

It seems there’s a new coaching vacancy available.

According to ESPN.com’s Brett McMurphy, Florida Atlantic coach Carl Pelini has resigned from his position, effective immediately. Pelini originally came to Florida Atlantic in 2011, after serving as defensive coordinator at Nebraska on his younger brother Bo Pelini’s staff, and the school will hold a press conference at 4 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday to announce his resignation.

Pelini was currently in the middle of his second season with the Owls. After going 3-9 in 2012 Florida Atlantic, the Owls were off to a 2-6 start to the 2013 season under Pelini.
