EJ Manuel Sprains Knee Against Browns

Bills_EJ_Manuel_2013CLEVELAND — Buffalo Bills quarterback EJ Manuel left Thursday night’s loss to the Cleveland Browns with a sprained right knee and did not return.

Coach Doug Marrone said Manuel’s injury will be evaluated in the coming days. The Bills do not play another game until Oct. 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

“I saw him working out on the sidelines and thought we could get him back,” Marrone said after the game. “And then [the medical staff] shut him down.”

Marrone said he does not know if Manuel, the 16th overall pick in April’s NFL draft, will undergo an MRI. He also said it is too early to know if the Bills will evaluate quarterbacks on the free-agent market.
