Eagles Interested In Danny Amendola

If St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola decides to leave the Gateway City as expected, the emerging slot wide receiver could reunite with Pat Shurmur in Philadelphia.

Amendola, who has often been described as a younger, less experienced version of Wes Welker, had 43 catches and a touchdown in 2009 when Shurmur served as the offensive coordinator with the Rams. Shurmur joined Chip Kelly’s staff in late January after he was fired by the Browns at the end of last season.

The Eagles are considering offering a contract to Amendola once he enters free agency, according to a report from CSNPhilly.com. Kelly could be looking to add weapons in his spread offense to complement veteran receivers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin.
