Los Angeles Dodgers lefty Clayton Kershaw looks to be on target to return to the lineup as early as Monday, according to Mark Saxon of ESPN Los Angeles.
The Dodgers say he cleared a final hurdle. He pitched five strong innings in what was his final minor league rehab start Wednesday night in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Kershaw hasn’t seen any major league action since his March 22nd opening day start in Australia; a game in which he injured his teres major muscle.
He struck out nine batters, allowing only two runs. Only one of which was earned, while throwing 86 pitches and walking two batters. He gave up only six hits but had to work hard to make up for his team’s errors.
