The Indianapolis Colts have already announced who their starting running back will be. Trent Richardson, after arriving from Cleveland in a bit of a surprise deal, only had 2.9 yards per carry after his arrival. He also didn’t fair so well in the playoffs. Now while that seems to suggest that Richardson isn’t up to a starting RB’s standards, the Colts feel that Richardson is their guy.
Richardson is also coming off shoulder surgery and his competition,Ahmad Bradshaw, is also coming back from a neck injury. The Colts have Richardson slotted above Bradshaw and Vick Ballard. While Richardson gets first shot if he doesn’t perform above 2.9 yards per carry. So it looks like the Colts have to make the best of a very touchy situation.
