The Indianapolis Colts running back situation just got a bit more precarious. Vick Ballard was carted off the field on Friday and Chris Mortensen of ESPN has reported that he has torn his Achilles tendon.

This would be the second consecutive season for Ballard to miss due to a season ending injury. The Colts were hoping that Ballard and Trent Richardson, who they traded for from Cleveland last year, would vie for the starting running back position. There are some free agent running backs available such as Willis McGahee, Ronnie Brown and Felix Jones.
