Cliff Lee, who has struggled this season with injury, will be able to come off the disabled list to make his first start since May 18th. Lee had previously started in Single-A and had struggled. He gave up eight runs and didn’t make it out of the fifth inning. With that being said, the Philadelphia Phillies have decided that Lee is ready to return to the rotation. In an interview with Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com, Lee had this to say about his start.
“I feel strong and I feel good and I’m ready to try to help the team win.”
The Phillies may be hoping that Lee will perform well before the trade deadline and then go ahead and trade him and his $37.5 million. For more information on this story visit: Hardball Talk, Aaron Gleeman
