Browns Owner Focused on Finding ‘Right’ Coach

CLEVELAND (AP) — Amid mounting criticism of Cleveland’s coaching search, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam says in a letter to fans he’s “committed to finding the right leader for our team.”

The Browns are looking for their seventh coach since 1999. They fired Rob Chudzinski last month after he went 4-12 in his first season.

Haslam says in a letter released Wednesday the team has been “purposefully” methodical in its approach. He adds that the team must stay “disciplined” and interview all its candidates.

Cleveland has interviewed six known candidates and intends to meet with Denver offensive coordinator Adam Gase when the Broncos’ season ends.

The Browns and Minnesota Vikings are the only teams still without a coach.
