Only one day after Andrew Shaw declared himself ready to return to the lineup, the Blackhawks put a stop to that.
Shaw will miss his eighth in a row tonight as he sits out Game 2 against the Los Angeles Kings, the club confirmed following Wednesday’s morning skate. Head coach Joel Quenneville said that Shaw did want back in, but said it was better to hold off until Saturday’s Game 3 at Staples Center.
He skated yesterday with teammates after suffering a leg injury back on May 2nd, the first game of the Minnesota series and sounded optimistic.
“I feel great, it’s good to be back,” Shaw said, via the Chicago Tribune. “I feel like I’m ready to play, but that’s not my decision. I’m getting prepared like I’m going to play.”
