Alex Colome To Start For Rays Saturday

The Tampa Bay Rays officially announced after Thursday’s game that RHP Alex Colome will be called up from Triple-A Durham to take the spot of RHP Alex Cobb in the rotation and start Saturday against the New York Yankees.

This will be Colome’s second stint with the Rays this season. He was called up in May to add depth to the bullpen but was given a start against the Marlins in Miami when an injury to the middle finger on Cobb’s pitching hand forced the Rays to shuffle the rotation.
