Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez isn’t allowed to watch the AFC championship game at the prison where he’s awaiting trial on murder charges.
Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson told The Associated Press on Friday that Hernandez isn’t allowed to watch any TV. If he wants to find out if his former teammates will be playing in the Super Bowl, he’ll have to hope he overhears it from an officer or a fellow inmate.
Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the June shooting death of Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old semi-professional football player who was dating the sister of Hernandez’s girlfriend.
Police are also investigating whether he might have been involved in a 2012 shooting that killed two people in Boston.
