MLBPA Wants A-Rod Out

Major League Baseball Players Association player reps are threatening to kick Alex Rodriguez out of the union.
But, that can’t happen.
A-Rod filed his lawsuit against the MLBPA after the arbitrator decided to suspend him for 162 games. Player reps voted to have him expelled, but they were then told that was not legally possible.
According to Yahoo! Sports , On a conference call of about 40 players and board members held Jan. 13 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., outraged union members repeatedly requested that Rodriguez be expelled, sources said. Following a roll call of players present on the line, according to one participant and another familiar with the call, the first player to speak asked bluntly: Can we kick him out of the union?
Not one member actually defended him.
Players have been comparing Rodriguez to players like Nelson Cruz and Jhonny Peralta and have in turn hinted at things that could happen, should A-Rod come back. They have said things like,” if he can’t fear the wrath of getting kicked out or not being included, he’s going to be forced out.”
While these players have a reason to dislike Rodriguez, the union will not tolerate their threats. A-Rod is exercising his legal rights in a labor fight with management and players can hate it all they want, but they cannot act on it.
