2013 AL Rookie Of The Year: Wil Myers

Tampa Bay Rays OF Wil Myers has been named the 2013 American League Rookie of the Year.

Myers hit .293 with 13 home runs, 23 doubles, 53 runs-batted-in and 50 runs scored in 88 games for the AL Wildcard Champion Rays in 2013. Myers was acquired last offseason from the Royals in a package deal for James Shields and Wade Davis and quickly became a mainstay in the middle of the order for the Rays after his debut on June 18th.

Myers is the franchise’s third rookie of the year winner – Jeremy Hellickson (2011) and Evan Longoria (2008) are the other two.
