Ivan Nova did not sound very convincing Thursday when he said it, but he claimed that his elbow felt fine and that he would be able to pitch in his next scheduled start Sunday against the Boston Red Sox.
Nova, perhaps the Yankees’ best pitcher over the last several starts, was removed from his latest start Tuesday after reporting tightness in his right elbow. He threw a bullpen session Thursday afternoon and came back to the clubhouse saying the elbow had improved.
“It didn’t feel like the other day,” Nova said. “It feels good.”
