Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira got some positive news from a recent MRI on his injured right wrist. However, as CBS New York notes, GM Brian Cashman would still prefer to place Teixeira on the 15-day disabled list. In fact, Cashman said during a Monday conference call that he’s “leaning toward” placing Teixeira on the DL and that the first baseman would likely be sidelined for at least a week.
Teixeira wasn’t able to make his 2013 debut until late May after he initially suffered the right-wrist injury in March. On Saturday against the Angels, Teixeira reaggravated that injury.
