Red Sox Sweep Yankees 9-2

Red_Sox_Clay_Buchholtz_2013The Red Sox completed the sweep of their three-game set against the Yankees Sunday night, taking the finale of the season series, 9-2.

The Sox finish the season series, 13-6, against the Yankees, winning the series for just the second time since 2005. The 13 wins match the most against the Yankees in a season by any team since the 1976 Orioles went 13-5.

The win, combined with the Rays’ loss to the Twins Sunday afternoon, moves the Sox closer to clinching the division, with their Magic Number at 4.
