Nick Swisher, Rafael Soriano and Hiroki Kuroda are all expected to reject the Yankees’ $13.3 million qualifying offer on Friday, sending each of them into full-fledged free agency and assuring the Yankees of draft pick compensation should they sign elsewhere.
According to a source, at least five teams have expressed serious interest in Swisher, including both the Mariners and Rangers.
Another source said Kuroda would likely pass on the offer, as he’s not ready to make up his mind on his future for 2013. Kuroda is being pursued by several teams including the Dodgers, though he could also opt to return to Japan to finish his career. The Yankees would love to have the righthander back for another year.
