Yankees Send David Robertson To DL For 15 Days

New York Yankees closer David Robertson is headed to the 15-day DL with a strained groin muscle, according to the Associated Press.

Robertson has been with the Yankees as a relief pitcher since 2008 and was named the successor to Mariano Rivera as the team’s closer this season, earning two saves in three appearances so far.

The Yankees recalled left handed pitcher Cesar Cabral from their Triple-A affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to fill Robertson’s spot.
