Seattle Mariners Managerial Finalists

Red_Sox_Tim_Wallach_2012Dodgers third base coach Tim Wallach became the third known finalist for the Mariners managing job, sources said.

Wallach joins two other coaches from winning organizations — A’s bench coach Chip Hale and Tigers hitting coach Lloyd McClendon — as second interviewees. Danny Knobler of reported Monday about McClendon’s status as a finalist.

Wallach, the former third-base star, has earned further respect as Don Mattingly’s lieutenant in Los Angeles.

Ex-Mariners Dave Valle and Joey Cora are among others to have spoken to the team about the position.
