Rays Interested In Corey Hart

Brewers_Corey_Hart_2013Corey Hart was on MLB XM Radio with Jim Bowden this afternoon and he mentioned the Rays were one of the teams interested in him. The others teams mentioned were the Red Sox, Brewers, and Rockies.

The big question with Hart is his health and although he claims to be 100% he won’t be given a full clean bill of health until December 3rd when he visits his doctors in LA.

Hart missed all of 2013 after having microfracture surgery on his right knee on January 23, 2013.  In his 2012 season he posted a slash line of .270/.334/.507 with 30 home runs and 83 RBI. In his career he has started 758 games in the outfield (700 RF) but in 2012 he made 97 starts at first base.

The Rays would most likely view Hart as a first baseman and a middle of the order right handed bat.

I am a fan of all sports but am most passionate about baseball. From the fanatical to analytical, nothing about the game escapes me. Being born and raised in Northeast Ohio I'm very familiar with the heartache and pain that sports can bring and hope that I bring some understanding of the other side to my coverage. I will focus mostly on baseball but also cover the Tampa Bay Lightning, one of the most electric franchises in all of sports. Always willing to converse about any sport and have only one rule and that is be respectful at all times.
