Polanco Set To Join Big League Squad Tuesday
The Pittsburgh Pirates have announced that they will recall top prospect Gregory Polanco prior to tomorrow’s game against the Cubs:

Polanco batted .347 (86-for-248) with 17 doubles, 5 triples, 7 HR’s and 49 RBI’s in 62 International League games this season.
His .347 avg ranked 2nd in the International League and he lead the league in runs (47), hits (86), RBI’s (49), extra-base hits (29), triples (tied for 1st with 7) and total bases (134).
Polanco will take over the everyday spot in right field, a position at which the Pirates have seen little production out of to this point in the season.
To this point in the season, Pirates right fielders have combined to hit .259 with 4 HR’s and 20 RBI’s across 62 games and 255 at-bats.
Gaby Sanchez, Josh Harrison, Jose Tabata, Travis Snider and Jody Mercer have played the position to this point in the season (with Snider getting the bulk of the playing time against righties) but now the Pirates will be able to roll the same guy out there day in and day out.
With Polanco now in the fold, Pittsburgh should have one of the fastest, if not the fastest, outfields in all of the baseball. Polanco will join a outfield that already includes the reigning NL MVP Andrew McCutchen in center and Starling Marte in left.
Needless to say, Polanco was pretty excited as he took the twitter to let fans know how he felt about the promotion:
The wait is over…. My dream has officially come true ⚾️ Pittsburgh, see you mañana!!
