Nationals Acquire Jerry Blevins

The Nationals have acquired Jerry Blevins from the Athletics, according to Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish (on Twitter). Oakland will receive outfield prospect Billy Burns, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports (on Twitter)

Blevins, who just turned 30 in September, pitched to a 3.15 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 60 innings for the Athletics last season. However, last season left-handed batters enjoyed much more success than their right-handed counterparts against Blevins in 2013, as lefties hit .258/.303/.443 off of him whereas righties hit just .185/.263/.311.
