The Rays media department is prepared with several press conferences tonight in case Price wins the award. One source suggests that there wouldn’t be this much movement at Tropicana Field if David Price wasn’t winning the award.
Price has put together one of the best statistical seasons in Rays history. Price is the first Rays’ pitcher to win 20-games and he leads Major League Baseball with the lowest ERA (2.56). In 31 games, Price has a 20-5 record with two complete games and one shutout. He ranks sixth in strikeouts with 205 and opponents are batting .226 against him.
