YoungThe Mets agreed to terms on a one-year, $7.25 million deal with 30-year-old outfielder Chris Young pending a physical, a team source confirmed.

Young is a career .235 hitter with 144 home runs in parts of eight seasons with the Diamondbacks and A’s. An All-Star in 2010, Young hit .200 with 12 home runs, 40 RBI and 93 strikeouts for the A’s in 2013.

Considered a good defensive outfielder, Young has played the majority of his 992 games in center field.

With rookie Juan Lagares impressing the Mets with his defense in center this past season, it is likely that Young will at least start the season in a corner outfield spot.
