Mariners, Rays Continue To Discuss Price, Zobrist

Mariners, Rays Discussing Trade

According to Ollie Connolly of MLB Outside Pitch, the Seattle Mariners have stepped up their chase to land two of the upcoming trade deadlines most valuable commodities.

The Mariners are believed to be willing to part with almost anything to add David Price to their rotation, which would give Seattle one of the strongest one-two punches in all of baseball.

Although the Mariners want both Price & Ben Zobrist, they would be willing to deal for Price alone.

Although nothing appears imminent both clubs know they’re on the clock to get any deal finalized and with Taijuan Walker now being dangled in talks, a player the Rays wanted from Seattle for Price this past offseason, it looks more likely that Tampa will be willing to deal.

Zobrist, 33, is hitting .267 with 7 HRs and 26 RBIs in 85 games so far this season. Though he is not hitting that well to start the season, Seattle loves the idea of his versatility both in the lineup and on the field.

Price, 28, threw eight shutout inning in a win over the Twins yesterday and is 10-7 with a 3.06 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 10.0 K/9 so far this season.
